Hello Geo,
|
To me,
this photograph represents my life
in Thailand. It represents everything I feel about that place. It
represents everything I experienced & everything I learned. Resting safely in my diary on page
38, this photograph has travelled around the world. It has become as much a part of
my travelling essentials as my toothbrush & soap. |

The 3 children in
the picture are some of the most loveable rays of sunshine, that I have ever had the
pleasure of encountering. From my first day
teaching at Watchirawit School, in Chiang Mai (Northern Thailand), I was enraptured by
their vibrant essence.
"I
remember waking up every
morning
with a huge smile on my face,
anticipating
their arrival to class." |

Eastern
Asians are well known for loving photography & Thai children are
certainly no exception to the rule. The finger & thumb
pose is typical of the young boys at Watchirawit School. They saw my
camera during a quiet moment & well, needless to say, there was a
minor disruption. These
children are so special to me. Together, we found a common ground,
despite the enormous language barrier. We taught each other patience
& together, we recognized the value of learning from one other.
