Celica Youth Hostel in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Celica Youth Hostel in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Mateja Pavlica of Ljubljana, Slovenia writes: Celica Youth Hostel in Ljubljana, Slovenia is a very special one, because it is a former prison transformed into a youth hostel.  More than 80 Slovene & foreign artists joined the transformation process.
They projected a visual transformation, but also a contextual transformation of the prison as a place of torture & death to a youth hostel - gallery as a place of light & life.  Last year, the City of Ljubljana & the Student organization of the University of Ljubljana, inaugurated Celica Youth Hostel.  The name, Celica, derives from the 20 special rooms we have on the

1st floor of The Celica Hostel, which are individually unique artistically designed former prison cells.
